i absolutely love it... it's much lighter, and slimmer then i was expecting. i don't mind it at all coming from the OG DInc. its awesome! i'm excited. but now what do i have to look forward to?

Can you go outside in the sun and see if the screen is still visible ? There seems to be mix reports on various reviews ranging from not very visible off angle, slightly washed out, totally washed out unview able.

If you want a device that looks great outside, get the Droid 3 or the Bionic (they do look great). The Razr and Rezound both look weak outside in the sun. Seems the Razr is worse, but neither are good compared to those two devices.

That said, surf the web and watch the demo HD vids on the Rezound and the display draws you in and makes other displays look weak in comparison- inside or cloudy days.... Real cloudy.

But Yes, you can see it, but none of the clairty of the D3 or Bionic.

i've been using it now for a couple hours. solid phone. i can see outside with no problem. i'm not super picky with anything either. still happy with my decision. will definitely go play with the Gnex when it's available...

i just got mine too. haven't even had a chance to take it out of the box so i've only tested the floor model at the store.

I thought my thunderbolt had a pretty decent display and even looked better then some newer phones like the bionic but dam! the rezound display hands down is freaking nice! I could tell side by side the rezound display is in every way better.

haven't even tried the beats ear phones but im sure its a lot better then the thunderbolt and most devices out there.

i'll probably do some kinda of video and embedded it here when i get a chance to test it out.

but from what i can tell, this will NOT be returned like i did the bionic.

and btw, i did test out the razor, and the camera does work better then the bionic. shutter time was much quicker but i did notice if i don't hold the camera very still it will take a slightly out of focus shot. but if you can hold still the picture looks great.
razor although thin is kinda wide. small hands will have a hard time holding it with one hand and using the thumb across the whole screen.

i did run quadrant on both phones. rezound was like 25xx and razor 22xx score.

the razor didn't have as much of a screen door effect users complain about with a pentile display like the bionic but I prefer the rezound display. if you didn't have both phones side by side to compare i would say the razor display will do just fine.

Well believe it or not I actually picked up mine today as well. Yeah, my ingenious plan I told you guys about went completely haywire. I'd planned on waiting until Black Friday to see if they offered some type of discount in the Verizon store but I guess fate had other things in store. My wifes car threw rod and now she has to get a new one. We decided to go with a cheap used car for now since she just needs it for going back and forth to work which is about 8 miles away. Anyway I told her I wanted to help her as much as I could so I would add my phone money to what I could give her from my check. This sweet woman of mine told me she thought that was really really nice of me and that she wanted me to have the phone I'd been chewing her ear off about for months now. I insisted and she flat out refused and said she would be pissed at me if i didn't get that phone. I was really impressed with her today..lol. Well, I decided to meet her in the middle. Signed away 2 years of my life to the big red devil and got the phone for contract price then added the money I saved to what I was going to give her anyway. Long story but a reasonably happy ending. I got my phone, we found a cheap van for her and it only cost me 2 years of servitude..lol. What we do for love huh.

looks a little bumpy/wavey but that depends on who is looking. maybe to me its wavy, but to you it is smooth.

looking at the thunderbolt it looks more bumpy wavy, and the rezound a bit smoother. but if you really are anal about it i would say i can see some waviness.

Just curious because I thought it made the Thunderbolt's screen look a little unpolished. As long as you didn't see the imperfections dead on then I was fine.

i don't think most people would even notice if you didn't tell them what to look for. I've done autobody paint for 10 years so my eye is trained to look at imperfection on the surface. so i can notice a lot of imperfection that many dont see.
But anyways, all that takes nothing away from this fantastic display. go to the local Verizon and see for yourself. play the demo video.
the detail is so good you can see her coffee stained teeth and bad hair styling.

I'll just patiently wait 2 days for mine to get here I know what you mean about the surface imperfections. When I bought a 2006 GTO I noticed orange peel (GM just started getting cheap with the paint process). I had the dealer look and they claimed that the orange peel was typical. If you look at some GM commercials where they show the cars up close, it's sad to see that they show all the orange peel and try to convince you that they're all about "Quality".

I had both out in the bright sun today and the Razr was dim but visible while the Rezound was not visible at all. Overall I think I like the Rezound screen better due to the slightly more natural colors and brighter whites but if you are looking for a screen thats visible in the sun the Rezound screen is not it.

Depends on how you define "visible" I had both devices at highest brightness. The Razr is not as bright, so the Rezound was more visible to me.

If sunny day viewing is important to people, the best bet for a 4.3" phone is the Bionic.

While I can't speak for the Bionic, I can honestly say the RAZR is leaps and bounds better than the thunderbolt outside in the sun. It even looks like one of the Best Buy dummy phones. It surprised me due to the dimness that the auto adjusts to indoors.

Honestly I was expecting some variation of what you said but in a much more coy way. I thought I'd be the hero by making this sacrifice and she just wasn't having it..lol. On a slightly different note as much as I am pleased that I bought this phone it's become very obvious to me that i have a lot to learn about smartphones in general. Spend all of late last night trying to get wi-fi to work and then being paranoid about if it was still on when I finished. I had some issues logging on to my on home router..lol. Not problems with the phone mind you just with me using the phone correctly. Ended up tinkering around with the pass-through function just to get some piece of mind.

I have 2 questions for the forum. 1.)Does anyone know if there is a diagram or display that shows what all the little icons and blinking lights on the phone mean and 2.) Could you guys recommend a couple of MUST HAVE apps for a smart phone. Speaking of which anyone know if there is a good forum app like tapatalk but free?

This is what I feared. It would wash out to the point that you could not dial numbers of see a map (I dont' really web browse or watch movies outside; but google map is useful; as well as email to check directions).

I tried to Google for a comprehensive diagram of all the status bar icons, but couldn't find one complete for HTC/Gingerbread.

As far as the Apps go, the first one I would consider downloading is the Amazon store Android app (You'll have to allow 3rd party apps in your settings). The reason you'll want the Amazon store app is because Amazon does a "free daily app" that typically costs money. I downloaded Peggle, Drag Racing Pro, OfficeSuite Pro 5, PrinterShare (great app lets me connect to my work server and print on most printers connected to the server), QuickOffice Pro, Sign (swipe to dial app), SwiftKey X (doesn't work on my rooted rom though ) and a bunch of other apps. http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b?ie=UTF8&node=2350149011 Today's app of the day is
