Just got the "PowerSkin."

Just got the "PowerSkin," case in the mail from Amazon.com. First impression is that it's VERY large. It feels like it's bigger then my current phone and case alone. I will keep you all updated on my impressions as I use it.

Got their email today saying this is the last chance to get the $10 discount and free shipping. I decided to pass because of the size and it just seemed too expensive for an additional 1500 mAh. Since it is recharging the stock battery there will be losses as well. Other battery recharging batteries I have tried seemed to function around 60% efficiency. Maybe they've anticipated that and made the battery larger??? An interesting test would be to drain your stock battery as far as your comfortable, note the battery level, turn off your phone, add the PowerSkin charging case, recharge until its battery is depleted, remove, restart the phone and tell us how far the phone's battery was recharged. Ideally, the PowerSkin would not be depleted before the ThunderBolt is fully recharged. If so, that might explain the bulk.

Thanks.

How easy it it to put on/take off. I have an extended battery, but the downside of that is the ability to put the Thunderbolt in a Car Dock -- if I plan on using my car dock then I need to change batteries back to stock. If the PowerSkin is easy to add/remove then that might be a better solution for me.

It's really easy to take on and off. More so then a regular case. The only thing about the case though (besides being very large), is that it's silicon. Not sure I like the feel of it as compared to the case I got from Verizon. Feels (to me) like running your hand on a dusty windowsill.

The case itself is textured or a static cling manget for pocket lint?

the case itself. It has a really weird texture. Kind of feels like you have something on your fingers after you touch it.

I probably won't use this unless I am for sure not going to be around a wall socket all day or in a car with the ability to use a car charger. It's a BRICK. I would compare carrying around this puppy to that scene in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps when Gordon Gekko get's his cell phone back from the prison inventory.

Glad I didn't pre-order. Was tempted to but then saw the pics and now your description. I would much rather have crappy battery life than having my phone look like the head of some deformed baby...

Add: I've got 2 babies and both have a slight bump on the back of their head (as do I) which made me think of that analogy

Is there a microUSB slot there? Perhaps you're evolving into some kind of cybernetic android borg?
