Lurker
I got the new samsung galaxy s3, I've had it for about 4 weeks now. Suddenly yesterday I killed the battery after about 6 hours (I was at work so other than getting a few email and texts, I didn't use it). I charged it off my computer for about an hour and half, it was charging very slowly. Then when I went to the gym (an hour), it was already warning me to plug it in. Today, I noticed that after an hour it went from 100% charged to 79%. By lunch time - 4.5 hour after being fully charged it was at 30%. I went in and dumped about 10 apps that I don't really use, changed some settings, but to no avail. I know its new, and its a novelty, but previous to yesterday, I'd at least get through an entire day. Thanks for any help!!

Hi susan...

Welcome to Android Forums. The problem you are having is one that happens to almost every smartphones.

You might need to calibrate/power cycle the battery - this is done by charging the battery to full - then using the device until the battery warning light or sound comes on - then charge to full again. This should be repeated four times.

You can also stop by your device's support forum for some cool tips & tricks on this device. However, if after doing so...and the problem persists ..chances are you might have to "reset" the device - doing so will wipe the phone clean and reverting all settings to its factory default.

Here's a link to your device's area of support: http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s3/

All the best. :)

Thanks, I have done the battery stuff already, so I am going to try the reset. Was hoping it would've been something easier! :) Oh well. Thanks!!
