I now have a galaxy 1. my question is, how do i get my data from the the galaxy to the infuse?

I have a few free apps like Mileage, Groupy, ebay, quickoffice, etc. Do i have to reinstall these or is there some way to back up what I have and reload it on the new phone?

I assume at&t will be able to move my multitude of contacts. i know they can move sim contacts but will they be able to move phone contacts?

how about my calendar? i have a buttload of items there!

The great thing about Android is that everything is backed up to your Google account. As soon as you log into your Google account on your new phone (which should be the first step when you turn it on), you will be able to download all of your purchased apps from the Market (simply go to Market and go to Menu and My Apps).

Calendar should also sync automatically via your Google account.

If you had been saving your contacts on your previous phone on Google instead of on your phone or SIM card, then it's a piece of cake because once again, it's all stored in your Google account so your phone will sync once and download all the information.

However, if you had set the option to where new contacts were stored on your phone's internal memory or SIM card, you'll have to back them up and then import that backup file on your new phone.

I'd highly recommend just for future reference, on your new phone, keeping the setting to where new contacts are saved onto your Google account instead of internal memory. Makes things a lot easier and you don't have to worry about backing up and moving files when you switch to a new Android phone.

thanks yohannie. i changed the privacy settings and checked Back Up My Data and Automatic Restore.

I also bought (4.99) Mybackup Pro for everything else. I've got a daily backup to sd card scheduled for 330 am daily. I should have 2 good backups before the new Infuse arrives.

Any other clues yall have for me?
