Just recieved and activated my new DX!!! What should I do first? Install apps? Remove bloatware? Any advice?

DEFINITELY put the screen protector on and get a case for it. I suggest the leather wrapped one with the kickstand. it rashly cushions the fall and kickstand comes in handy. A little tricky to take off, but once you figure it out, no problems.

Turn it on and enjoy ;)

Screen protectors for sure. I have the Verizon ones. They are very slick and slippery. Finger seems to slide on it better than the screen itself. They also seem to minimize finger prints.

Case of your choice.

I think it makes sense to get 2.2 before downloading any apps also. I also think the apps are causing the problems with the 2.2(2.3) update.

I got a new case from Verizon that had good reviews in the Droid X Accessories section of these forums. I ordered the Steinheil Ultra Screen protectors last night from Amazon. So those should be coming soon. I am just going to leave the screen protector that it came with on until those get here.

I updated to 2.2 as soon as I got it home. I just downloaded my first app (Launcher Pro). How do I know if I have bloatware on my droid X? Any other suggestions for some good apps to get?

Those steinheil screen protectors are awesome...have one on my phone

TIP: Put it on SIDE to SIDE...not top to bottom...and slowly pull the film off as you are putting it on just as the directions say to eliminate dust or anything sticking to the screen protector.

Nice, Thanks for the advice.
