does your phone have the same symptoms? (charges but only vibrates once after turning on, no visible screen?)
Is your sd card formatted to fat32?
Dude, you shoudl have done a little more research before messing with anything. This is a common problem that comes up with SLCD screens and Clockwork Recovery. You have to download adrynalyne's "crackwork mod" and it'll work just fine.
Look on XDA forums and you should find it fairly quickly.
I hope you didn't brick your phone.[/QUOTE
So if you don't have a connection to the PC via USB. Can this be done from the SD card just by renaming the file PB31IMG.ZIP to PB31IMG?
Where is the SKU # that indicates the screen type? On the phone? Like under the batter?
1>So if I remove the battery and reinstall it, then I plug it in to the USB. I get a amber light.
2> So if I remove the battery and reinstall it,then PRESS VOLUME DOWN and Power. I GET A VIBRATION and no amber light.
I tried and no luck. Is my timing off?
So the only way to get a file to the phone would be via SD card in my case....
HELPPP

Once you hold that volume down plus power, you should get a singlr vibrate plus a white screen. Regardless if you are rooted with slcd or not, you should be able to get the white hboot screen with skateboarding androids on that bottom. Assming your pb31img.zip is in the root folder, your hboot should auto load that file and ask if you want to update. Volume down for no up for yes if I remember correctly. Let it do its thing then once it is finished it should ask you to reboot. Once it reboots, you should be golden.
I think I explained it all. Let me know if I didn't ir someone else might chime in.
EDIT: be sure to hOld the volume down first and do it FIRMLY them press and hold power. If hboot doesnt load, you are doing something wrong.

I managed to get the device manager to see this

I see nothing on the phones screen at all. Just vibration or led.

Ohh, so your problem is that you have no disk drive connection to your computer?
If so follow this guide: public:windows_hboot_driver_install [RootWiki]
If not: then I am lost as to what your problem is.
If you have access to a windows xp computer, i'd try to use the ruu method. Or use a 2.2 pb31img.zip and put that on your sd card, and boot into hboot even though you wont see it. Wait about a minute and hit volume up, then wait about 5 minutes and hit volume up again, then wait about 10 minutes and hit volume up one last time. Make sure you check the md5 hash of the file before attempting. Follow this link for the file http://androidforums.com/incredible-all-things-root/181255-how-downgrade-official-2-2-a.html
The slcd got me too. followed all the guides, to go to recovery and see blank screen with two lines. Luckily I've got crack google skills and was able to find the solution. Scared the hell out of me though.

I know I have done this correctly. I have no connection to the PC at all...
I am having the same issue as everyone else except if i try to boot into HBOOT, i get no vibration from the phone. I only receive vibration from the phone if I boot it normally. After I boot normally my computer sees the phone and the charging light comes on. But when I try to access the drives to try and put the correct PB31IMG.zip file, it wont let me open the drives
