Root Just Rooted - Need advice

I've had my DINC since launch and for the past year or so, it's been turned off and sitting due to me getting a DINC2.

Finally got the time and desire to root it yesterday.

Because it had been off so long and had no network service it still had Froyo 2.2. I was able to successfully and easily root it and achieve S-OFF using the instructions here: http://androidforums.com/incredible...ked-3-rooting-stock-incredible-evo-2-2-a.html

Do I need to perform Unrevoked Forever now?

So the question is, now what?

I'd like to move to the latest stock Verizon Gingerbread ROM and maintain root for starters.

I did enable wifi on the phone yesterday to check the Market for something and shortly got the system update notification for Android 4.08.605.2 OTA update to Gingerbread. I have not taken the update yet and would like to skip it entirely.

Eventually, I'd like to update the radio, hboot and Clockwork. Do I need to upgrade Clockwork? Seems like as I read through threads, I have an older version as installed by Unrevoked and there are much newer versions out there, but various ROMs can only be loaded by certain versions of Clockwork. I'm confused.

Does your hboot say s-off? If it does, no need for unrevoked forever. You can update clockwork easily by using the rom manager app.
