Root Just Rooted...What Next?

I'm sorry it there was another thread for this but I didn't see it.

I just rooted my phone using super one click. I wanted to know what are some of the basic things I can do now that I'm rooted. Like how do I take off all those ATT apps that I don't want or use? Are there any special/ cool apps that I can use now that I'm rooted. Things of that nature. I really appreciate your comments and help!!

Thanks in advance.

You can use Titanium Backup to get rid of those AT&T apps, or, you could go for it and flash a custom ROM. There's lots of info to follow in my sig - enjoy your new-found freedom!

So I rooted and today I flashed my first ROM, Cognition 4.3.1!! I guess a quick question is, when I choose to flash another rom, do I have to start the whole process over again from the start? Flash back to stock, master clear, etc, etc?

To be safe yes, you should go through the whole thing. There are some who don't ever do it, however, because the good ROM developers force a wipe when their ROMs are installed. If you do decide to go the easy route be prepared to do the whole thing if anything goes wrong after the flash.

Thanks!! I just picked cognition because i followed the xda videos. I tried to flash serendipity but it didn't work for me. Do you know what are the best roms?

How did Serendipity 'not work for you'? As far as I'm concerned that's the best ROM out there, YMMV.

When I was in clockworkmod, I clicked install serendipity_6.4.zip and it sat on the finding update packages and did nothing.

When I did the same step with cognition4.3.1 it found the update packages and loaded very quickly.

Sounds like a bad download. I've never had a problem flashing it, nor have I heard this is a 'known issue' or anything. But you're enjoying Cognition, that's all that counts.

Yeah I'm liking it the custom rom. This weekend I'm going to spend time with changing the boot animation and will probably flash another rom just to see what's out there.
