Just shattered my screen...assurion vs wirefly

I just shattered my screen so now it looks like i have to deal with assurion... has anyone used wirefly's insurance before? I can still get it through them as opposed to sprints but I don't know if it's worth it for me or not.

Great, another person buying insurance AFTER they break it. Why the rest of our insurance is more expensive.

You buy insurance and put in a claim AFTER you broke it, that is fraud.

Check with your credit card company. Mine (AmEx and Citi MasterCard) both cover 90 days of accidental damage if you used their card for purchasing it (and they also extend the warranty one year).

i dont see where the OP stated that he bought insurance AFTER he broke it...

i'm reading it as he already had insurance + he has wirefly insurance

sprint is through assurion and they are very good about getting you a phone real fast too. Usually it's overnite if you provide them with all the info. Word of advice, if you fax them your drivers license write your sprint phone numer on it as well. You probably won't get a refurb because there are so few phones out there. Oh and when you send your phone back you keep everything that was in the box including the battery.

I cancelled my Assurion after they sent me three straight Blackberry referbs. I purchased my EVO through Sprint and purchased their insurance; $10 a month, no deductible, new phone guaranteed.

I wasn't aware that Sprint has a $10/month insurace? I thought their only insurance was TEP for $7/month and that is Asurion?

Let me guess, no screen protector or case?

I havent heard of Sprint offering a $10 no deductible insurance. I know Geek Squad at Best Buy offers an insurance plan that fits that description. It's $9.99/month, with no deductible and I believe they told me it covers minor water damage.

Huh.. this sounds more like Best Buy's insurance plan.

WRONG! Since Sprint doesn't have any phones how could you possibly get a new one? They're all reserved for pre-orders. You get one of many returned phones that Sprint gets back within the 30 day trial period, duh.

Well the good thing is asurion doesn't rely on sprint for the phones. They have their own sources and resources. As far as getting brand new versus refurb is luck of the draw. I would probably guess as people are returning phones for warranty replacement you will start to see a lot of refurbs soon after they have been "fixed".
