Hey Guys, so I just started messing around with theming Android. Can anyone tell me what file/setting controls the notification shade transparency?

I believe in the framework-res.apk file, which I belive is in /system. I am not 100% sure, someone please correct me if I am wrong. If I remeber right the notification (battery, signal, etc.) icons are all in there, and should have the notification bar as well.

You are correct. I found it. I've mostly been doing cosmetic stuff. I have zero experience programming, but Chris Soyars has some nice tutorials up...

what version of android are you trying to theme? frf57 did not allow for transparent notification bar/drop down menu. in order to allow that, you have to use xeodux's program. It's called xUltimate 2.1. google it.

The actual files that control the notification bar are in framework-res.apk /res/drawable-hdpi

The files themselves have to be transparent png files in ordre for transparency to work.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by notification shade.
