Root just tried cw mod using external sd-nothing

I just tried the install for cw mod using the external SD and version. I unzipped the file and placed those two folders on the SD card (recovery and update.zip). I reboot with volume+ held but it still loads touchNtap. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

When you pressed volume + and the power button did it look like it was installing something? Try doing it again. Power and volume +, let's see if it takes you to the Clockwork recovery. It won't replace Tap n Tap just the stock recovery. You have to load a custom rom using CWmod for it to replace Tap n Tap.

Only messed with it a little more lately. But, I make sure that I held down the volume + longer than I had in the past and -bing - CWM. Now on to the rooting.
