Help Just wi fi

Hi guys
To cut costs when visiting another country, is it possible to turn off all normal phone connections and just use wi fi and local hotspots to make calls ( through Skype ?) and send and recieve emails and get internet access.
Have had a look at settings and can'r see how to disable normal service

Very easy. Just put into Flight mode and then re-enable Wifi (which turns itself off when you go into flight mode). If you want to use the phone part but not the 3G while overseas, leave it out of Flight mode but instead go to Settings - Wireless & Networks - Mobile Networks and untick where it says Data Roaming. That way you won't be able to use 3G when roaming away from home.

Will give it a go Simon. I did think about flight mode but wasn't aware that you could re enable part of it. Your answer was just what I was looking for.
