Root Just wondering

Since there probably isn't gonna be anything after the FFG22D Build from Verizon I'm debating if i should start rooting, but i've only seen guides on how to root from other Builds not from the "stock D1 FFG22D" How would i go about it? What roms are out for it? or would i have to flash back to a previous Build. If there's a link in forums please direct me to it if this has already been answered.
