Root KaosFroyo v31

V31
Multi-touch DroidX keyboard.
Scrolling fix
Framework updates
Lib updates
Webkit resync with upstream

That "framework updates" in the change log makes it worth the while of v30 users to upgrade.

No wipe is noted as a requirement, so it should be painless. ;)

Gotta love custom rom's!! I love all the changes the devs do to these rom's. It just seems like I get my phone set back up the way I like it and then there is another version. That's fine by me, keep up the good work.

nonsensikal should be out soon to reflect the changes made to KaosFroyo

remember that patients is a virtue, and the dev's work really hard on perfecting these rom's.

Per Kaos on XDA - about 20 minutes ago.

"Sorry guys, camera regression bug in V31. A fix has already been pushed to github, I'll roll up a release shortly. In the meantime the brave can pull it from github."

Good eye.. keeping one peeper on XDA developer's area threads really is helpful here.

I particularly like the very proactive developers jumping on these issues for us.

Just boot into Recovery and flash the v31 zip file from there without doing a wipe first (though a Dalvik wipe wouldn't hurt any.) I would both back up your apps and/or do a nandroid backup before flashing, just in case the flash messes up on your phone.

It's good practice to always make a backup anytime your flashing something. You never know what could happen and you don't wanna have to start all over from scratch. Expect the best, but prepare for the worst!

I flashed v31 over v30 with no trouble. v31 appears to be about the same as v30. The new keyboard seems nice - I haven't played on it much yet. Unfortunately, the gallery issue with distorted images after rotating the screen still exists. I took a picture with fx camera and everything worked nicely. I did have a freeze with the stock camera, but the video seemed to work fine.

Seriously liking kaosfroyo.

EDIT: Downloaded this gallery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7218547&postcount=3652 and installed it using Astro. Nice gallery that works. Not 3D, but it works.

I was curious, is it a good idea to wipe the battery stats on each update?

I used to experiment with that when I first started flashing ROMs.

I found no differences that I could detect one way or the other, so I stopped doing it.

I downloaded a corrupt version. What is the checksum so that I can verify the integrity?

(Thank goodness for Nandroid backup!)

Different site download didn't work either. It keeps telling me this:

Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:Corrupt file:
system/framework/framework.jar
E:Verification failed

Installation aborted

EDIT: Did everyone flash over v30?

HELP!

For some strange reason, everytime I use the keyboard and switch from character to number mode, it deletes random letters from what I have already typed and also puts at least one space automatically where one shouldn't be. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
