Keep button lights on

Anyone know how to keep the lights on the 4 buttons at the bottom? It gets annoying that they go off after like 5 seconds.

I too would like to know if there is a option to keep these on as long as the screen is on or an update that will change this.

Agreed. This is quite annoying. I've read that this is related to the ambient light sensor up at the top left of the screen, but I would love a way to override the timing.

This is really annoying. My old droid inc used the light sensor and kept the touch button back lights on when it was dark.

My cousin just purchased the Samsung Vibrant from T-Mobile and I have to say the lights on the bottom of his phone are at least 4x as bright as the ones on the Captivate. I'm a bit jealous. They are like a pure white light while ours look somewhat piss colored. Sorry, I ran out of words.

of course we could do that, but we shouldn't have to. My first phone, an old flip phone even had separate settings for the screen and keypad backlighting time. Who's decision at samsung was it to make the time out 2 seconds? Who missed the crappy gps. Who missed the terrible lag issues. My god there's just more and more evidence of how this phone was just thrown together.
