Help Keep FB contact updates but lose status updates?

[Bug Splat]

I like having my FB contacts on my phone and linked to my gmail contacts but the status updates are pissing me off. I use the FB app to check on things and really dont need my Sense's People app to also tell me what they are doing. I hate having to go in and view each of their status just to clear that stupid green dot. The OCD in me freaks out seeing it.

Any way to turn that feature off without killing the rest?

From the home screen hit menu>settings>accounts&sync. Go into facebook and uncheck sync live feeds. Im pretty sure u have to clear the ones that are there but after that it should be good
