Hi. I have just purchased a Galaxy Ace GT-S5839i and am finding it difficult to find out how I delete messages and also add Contacts. Please excuse me as I am 75yrs old.

Welcome kennethegee :)

Glad to have you here and hopefully i can help you with the issue you are having :)

First off for deleting messages, texts i am assuming, if you long press on a message, if you are viewing them as individual threads, you should just be able to, like i said long press and choose delete.

Second for adding contacts go into your contacts app and at the bottom there will be a little box with a person in it with a plus next to it, there you can add contacts :)

Hope this helps and thanks for joining :D

Hello Kenneth! Welcome to Android Forums! :)

I have not used your phone before but I looked around online to try and answer your questions.

To delete text messages try these steps:

  1. select Messaging from the home screen
  2. select the message you want to delete
  3. press the Menu key
  4. select Delete

To add a contact:

Here's how to add contacts to your phone.

  1. From the homescreen, open the application list (App drawer) and select the ‘Contacts’ icon.
  2. Tap the plus ‘+’ icon.
  3. Select a memory location. If you have more than one account, select an account you want to add the contact to.
  4. Enter the contact information into the relevant fields.
  5. Select ‘Save’ to add the contact to memory.
You can also create a contact from the dialling screen.

  1. From the homescreen, open the application list (App drawer)and select the dialpad shortcut.
  2. Enter a phone number.
  3. Select ‘Add to Contacts’.
  4. Select a memory location.
  5. Enter the contact information into the relevant fields.
  6. Select ‘Save’ to add the contact to memory.
Also, here is a video showing how to add a contact.

One last thing. If you would prefer to ask questions to other members who have the same phone as you, here is a link to the Galaxy Ace Section.

Thanks for signing up! I hope this helps! :)
