Root Kernal Questions

I've downloaded setCPU, but the slider wont let me overclock. Max is 998mhz, and from what I read, the kernal is usually behind this. I understand that different kernals work differently for different people with different ROMs, etc. but Im having trouble understading what all the words and codes mean. More HAVS, les HAVS, cbs, cfs, more aggressive, less aggressive, the stuff like that. Could someone either show me a post (that I wasnt able to find(I SEARCHED)) that explains this, or help me out with it?

Im rooted, using Koni's Elite II ROM, and (before I flashed the ROM) I installed netarchy's toastmod 4.3.1-cfs-havs-nosbc-universal (I dont know if flashing the ROM installed a different one)

If you flashed Toastmod before you flashed Koni's, then it did overwrite Toastmod. Koni's comes with HTC #15 I believe. Don't quote me on that kernel. :)

You have to flash a kernel after you flash a rom.

I linked a thread from this forum that has a link to the XDA thread Xtreme gave you, I believe it was on the MikZ thread. :D
