Root kernal questions

allright im rockin the syn frozen 1.1 with midnight kernal 1.1 which came as a package deal with the ROM download/flash. Now while i havent had too many problems there are a few quirks with not only my browser but a few apps not to mention i cant undervolt with this particular kernal. Now i dont ask this question without having searched the threads and ive run into a couple threads that suggest not updating to the 1.2 vision kernal and I guess my question to you undeniably experienced folks is if there are horror stories i should know about and is there any updated version of this kernal that i can get or even better whats the opinion on that spiffy new ROM at the top of the thread list here?

What new ROM are you talking about?
 
ok your talking about twilight zone kernel. the vision kernel in its current state is 1.2, we hit a few.. snags due to it, so thomas is recoding it from scratch. as for the rom we have a 1.1.1 update with a new kernel in testing right now, cant say any dates tho ;P

also twlight kernel support voodoo and voltage control

I thought that I was already running on the twilight kernal v1.1 at least that's what it reads in the build window of my "settings/about phone" unless I'm wrong if so I'm sorry for the annoying questions lol however going off the assumption that I am, I wonder then why when I go to run voltage control it tells me that I'm running an unsupported kernal and links me to the xda site wth a list of supported kernals (which I believe is incomplete anyway). And Zigg I was asking about that midNIGHT rom v5.2 (BYOR) just seeing if anyone has flashed it and if so what they think about it so far.
 
Awww crap lol forgive me I just reread all the posts and realized I just made a fool out of myself yes I am runnin midnight kernal I want the twilight kernal I assume lol so suggestions if I'm going to go with the twilight kernal is to stick with 1.1 for now correct? And I don't suppose anyone would be kind enough to throw that link to it up here would they?
 
twlight is bundled with syndicate frozen 1.1.0, i was talking about syndicate 1.1.1 ;)

vision kernel is the other kernel ACS puts out, we have 1.3 in beta right now just waiting on the word from testers to pull the trigger and launch it :D
 
Ahh I see well then forgive me for being thick as I know I can be sometimes but are u saying that 1.1.1 is indeed available and if so where do I need to go to find I because asu said (because for some reason I couldn't seem to be able to seperate the 2) I am running kernal v 1.1.0 that was bundled with the ROM but am as yet unable to undervolt which I assume would have been resolved in 1.1.1...again sorry for the bull-headedness
 
Oh and by the way sir shabby if 1.3 is up to snuff with the rest of you folk's work then I expect an amazing kernal indeed as you guys so far have done nothing BUT amaze me.
 
or wait mabey I'm just getting everything confused because I'm so new to all this but this would clarify a few things: is the vison kernal I just downloaded (v1.1) from the xda site different from the kernal that came with the syn frozen v1.1.0 ROM that I flashed?
 
twilight kernel is bundled, its made by tanimn, the vision kernel is made by thomasskull666.

the ROM will have an update to 1.1.1 idk if the kernel will or not
 
Ahh thak you good sir....you are a gentleman and a scholar....now say I flash the vision kernal and don't like I....where would I find the twilight kernal that came with my ROM

Go to LostandTired.com and look under his development section it has all the info you'll ever need for his ROMs. And I'm pretty sure he has a new one out. 5.3
Read his blog to while your at it!
