I have initiated a claim with my carrier (MetroPCS) because phone is malfunctioning. It randomly reboots, erases app icons from home screen, will start dialing all the numbers in my contact when trying to place a call from the contacts, and will sometimes return to home screen while browsing. it will also go to a blank screen occasionally when I push dial to make a call, not initiating the call. I am told I have to go with the same phone with the same operating system. I am not so sure that perhaps some of these issues aren't because of the old operating system (if in fact it is an older version, which I suspect it is). What is the current kernel system for androids? And will I just be trading one problem for another if I get the exact same phone with the exact same system? Please help-phone is driving me nuts!!!
