Root Kernel Q

Zalandis

Newbie
So Im using Chevy's SS 4.7 with his .8 ULV kernel and im getting like 5 hour battery life... I checked Usage and number one is Drroid OS with like 28% and then display with 18%. Can the kernel kill battery that much or should i just do a wipe and start all over?? Thanks :-)

It's very possible that your kernel is suspect. After 5 hours of moderate use I'm still at 80% charge. I'm using P3's 250-1000MHz Froyo kernel. Your mileage may vary, of course, as every Droid reacts differently to the same kernel.

Backup using x+power BEFORE flashing a new kernel! It'll be your only fallback if you're caught in a bootloop.

I think I just had my min to high... will have to see if this fixes it cause damn that battery was dropping QUICK!!

that would do it !!! lol
I am running 125min/850max I can last all day on moderate use and about 5hrs max intense or streaming.

kernels make a very big difference as well as your sync schedules and widgets used.
It never hurts to back up your current set up and try a few kernels :)
