Root Kernel Tuner Question

Kamau

Android Expert
I'm running rom 10.1 Wild For The Night, and have the kernel that is preinstalled, using Kernel Tuner.

First off, I'm wondering which tuner control takes priority over the cpu and actually runs it. I have KT, but also the rom has it's own cpu control in the performance option, plus I have Rom Toolbox which also has a control. Do I have to set them all to the same thing, or does one take control over the others?

I ask because it seems like lately, when I set KT to something, and then exit and come back, the settings have changed. Like this morning, I was checking it, and cpu0 was at "min" 432, "max" 1296; cpu1 was at "min" 432, "max" 486. But I always set them both to the same. When I reset it to both the same, exited and came back, cpu1 max had changed again to 1512. And I also had both govs to ondemand, but cpu1 had changed to interactive. I have the set on boot box checked as well. That is why I am wondering if a conflict is occuring between the 3 cpu controls.

Last, I am wondering if it better to have the cores linked or not? I have never checked that box, but wondering if it is something that should be done, or one of those "it depends" type situations.

it depends on the last app you messed with... so if you modified with kerenl tuner and then modified with rom toolbox, the settings from rom toolbox carry over... usually, try to stick to only one app (kernel tuner)... im not sure why yours randomly changes though...

as for linking cores... no real reason to do so... it just makes both cores use the same amount of power... so if cpu0 will be at 1080... cpu1 will also hit 1080... i can't find a real reason for the two cores to be linked... only makes it worse for the battery...

Well, I haven't used any one of them but Kernel Tuner for that very reason, but still wondered.

ohs... and kernel tuner update now...
-minor ui improvements
-fixed crash on some devices in gpu
-backup and restore of all app settings

Got it, thanks.
It's funny too, because I was just beginning to experience fc's with it this morning. They must have been checking my phone. :)
