Root Kernel

MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!!!!!! (in cwm)
in a fully booted system (stock not CM)
copy to /sdcard/
open terminal emulator (download from play store)
type "su" and accept permissions
type "dd if=/sdcard/boot.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot"
then "reboot"
kernel should install

it should boot, if not just restore from backup made earlier

no problem, it should boot, and if it does, please screenshot settings>aboutphone>kernel info

then post pic here

But on a side note, I was testing that in CM10, so you know that apparently doesn't work. I don't know about Android 4.0.4. I'll restore back, if I can just flash Slimmstock+. Well, can I?

i thnk it may have been my horrible scripting (to make boot.img) to save time. let me do the whole process manually

Did you matrixconfig to compile the kernel. If you did it was configured for the zte force, and that may be the problem
