Root KERNELS Differences

Hi Friends:

I have two files Tiamat_Evo-v4.0.6-sbc.zip and Tiamat_Evo-v4.0.6.zip...What are the differences between the two files?...I have CyanogenMod v7.0.3.1-Supersonic ROM in my Evo 4g...What do you recommend me to flash it? (from the two files)

Finally, How can I flash the KERNEL file that you recommend me?

Thanks

The SBC file is set to "trickle charge" the battery. Normally you will see a quick drop in battery when its first unplugged down to 90%. With SBC you do not see that drop as it charges the battery to true 100%. You can look here for more info on kernels.

I use SBC kernels when available personally. To flash a kernel, download the file and put on your sdcard, reboot to recovery, wipe cache and dalvik-cache, select and flash the kernel, reboot.

CM7 has settings built in for custom kernels. I would go with a Smartass governor as it has preset profiles for screen off and such.

Hi Xtremedays:

Thanks for your reply and for your help...just one doubt...I go with the following route

Menu/Settings/CyanogenMod Settings/Performance/CPU Settings/Available Governos

and I have the following options:

1. interactive
2. conservative
3. userspace
4. powersave
5. ondamand (by default)
6. performance

What do you recommend me? CyanogenMod v7.0.3.1-Supersonic has ondamand (by default) and it has too a Kernel version 2.6.37.4-cyanogenMod-013380g0374804 shade@toxygene#1

Thanks

Once you download and flash the kernel, your governor options will include the Smartass governor. That one is my choice. Tiamat kernels are very good. I have had the best battery life out of all with them.
