Never heard of Kernel Engineer before this. You can easily flash a kernel by putting it on your card and flashing it like any other zip (do not do a full wipe or you'll need to reflash the ROM also).
As to how well it will work, depends on which kernel you pick. I would check the threads on a particular ROM to see what other folks are using (I've stuck to the stock kernel on IncReeng; it works fine for me).
