Root Kernels.

Hey guys so I've been trying VERY hard to flash custom kernels and i have never been successful. I've seen all threads in the forum and nothing has worked at all. I have hboot 1.4 with s-off rooted and unlocked, whatever you wanna call it, so i'm not completely ******ed. But i've tried flashing the zips, redownloading them on my laptop, tried another method (can't find zimage files), different combinations and such but i only get one of two outcomes, brick or no change at all. Any insight would be much appreciated. :D please and thank you.

Do you wipe cache and dalvik?
 
Are you using a custom recovery? I can vouch that 4EXT works really well with this phone (and it's popular amongst other users in this forum), but you are free to choose any other one.

Could be anything, including the kernel being pre-overclocked too high for the phone to boot.
