Help Keyboard change and 96% battery

OttoZro

Newbie
Hello all,
this is my first post (hurray :)

So like many I updated ICS to JB..
and yes there were alot of changes here and there...

one of the most annoying changes for me was that the keyboard was changed..more specifically the smiley section.. I dont like using Swipe (gasp..), but perfer the standard touch Q Keyboard..

any way can this be changed..with out downloading an app, but if an app needs to be downloaded which one?

Also how can I change the color of the smilies from dark green to a different color?

Last but not least, when I recharge my phone to 100% it literally after less then 10 secs it goes down to 96% ...but from there it drains normally!?! Why?

My user experience is with computers (Macs/PC) and have only just started using Smart phones since last year (April of 2012 to be precise). I have owned a SGS 4G (T-mobile) and ran GB on it. Very fast phone for about 7 months, but I needed more power so I upgraded to a SGSII with ICS (March 2013). Big difference in power and Operating system, but I think I made a mistake in upgrading to JB too fast.... I should have enjoyed ICS a little more..wierd huh?

anyways, any help would be appreciated.

I am sorry in advance if this thread is not in the proper place.
I have come here and to numerous android websites thru out the last year,
but have decide to make this place my home, reasons being VERY polite people and very informative :)

Congratulations on your first post!
I'll try to help you with your issues but I'm not as smart as some of the phone nerds here (no offense Atma) Haha!
Im really not sure what you mean by touch Q keyboard but you can switch from Swype to Samsung keyboard in settings>language and input>Default. I use Swype so I dont know if that helps.
About the color of the smilies - I don't think they can be changed but you can change the color of the background bubbles if you're using standard messaging.
As for your last issue - a lot of people had that same issue. Just a JB bug.

Hopefully that helps.

I perfer the standard keyboard. But it has changed from ICS (and of course alot from GB).

How does one change the color of the bubbles?

and thanks for letting me know about the 96% battery drain BUG.. HA HA :) too funny

Hi OttoZro :hello:

I don't have much to add to Caker's post, just wanted to welcome you to the forums. :)

There are lots of free keyboards in the Play Store. You might experiment and find one you like better.

To change the bubbles and background in the stock messaging app, you go into the app --> Menu Key --> Settings --> Under Display, you'll see Bubble Style, Background Style. You can choose from the options in there. Keep in mind with using a personal pic as your background, it will have gray sheet over it.
