keyboard issues, anyone else?

Anyone else having trouble with keyboard entry? Allot of times my cursor will jump back and cause me to type behind the word I just typed or it will completely move the word I just typed behind the previous word. Sometimes the cursor will continuously jump back and forth and other times it will continue to repeat letters even when hitting the backspace to try and erase them, it will just keep adding more jumbled up letters .Also in text boxes when I want to go back and select something to edit it with my finger everything gets screwed up and I can't even go back and select the end of the line to continue typing without some serious concentration....lol.......AND YES I have tried other keyboards.

if you are using a custom keyboard app, check it vs stock android keyboard. some keyboard apps are pretty wonky. also check touch calibration of device, just being off slightly will cause touch to get weird. but if all else fails, click manage apps in settings and clear the data and cache on any custom keyboard and also stock keyboards.

I've experienced issues like you've mentioned on various devices running Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, ICS and Jelly Bean.

As Curtis mentioned, different combinations of keyboard apps and browser/editing apps can provide different results and sometimes don't play well together.

You can try the Hacker's Keyboard app. It offers arrow keys (at least in Landscape mode by default) which can be helpful to move the cursor through text.

Also, keep in mind that sometimes even though it seems the cursor has jumped back to the beginning of a text input box where it appears to be blinking, its location is actually still wherever you last had it. This is particularly evident in landscape mode on the Elite while using the Hacker's Keyboard in Landscape mode with the Landscape mode fullscreen option enabled.

Ever try posting a link or other text into a certain point in text you've already entered into a textarea field? That can deliver some unexpected results.

Well, you're not alone. I hope some of this helps.

i think im losing my mind here. ive used the calibration in settings and ill be a monkeys uncle. i cant find it in settings. i think i deleted it lol. but check in settings.

I know, I have an older Coby Kyros Android tablet and it has a calibration app built in, but I'm not able to find one on my phone settings. So I just figured they don't supply that on the phone. Then I saw your post and thought maybe they do and I just missed it.
