Keyboard lag when typing inside native Messages app (2.1, no root)?

Can someone do a favor for me: open the stock Messages app, open up one of your ALREADY EXISTING threads (dont click "new message"), and try to type really fast. Is there keyboard lag?

For me, there is a lot of keyboard lag. It's so slow that, sometimes the autocorrect box does not pop up in time, and I'm just typing freely without corrections.

This is very frustrating, and if anyone knows a fix for it, please let me know!

Is it still slow after rebooting? How many total texts and how many total in the group you are opening?

I have lag, but it's typically not terrible (rooted though).

I have found that there will always be lag. However, if you keep your threads on the small side, the lag will be less.
