Help Keyboard Q's

The keyboard that comes up on my 3D looks like the stock keyboard, it's all grey. However when I go to Language & Keyboard there's Swipe settings available but I don't see how to toggle to the Swipe Keyboard. I used Swipe on my 4G so nor sure if I want to switch, but would like to know how.

I posted a similar question for my Evo4G in anoter topic and got my answer. Has to be toggled while composing a message and not in the keyboard settings.
I noticed that the new HTC keyboard on the 3D doesnt have the navigation arrows which allows larger keys. Any way for the 4G to use the same layout?

Press and hold your finger in a text box then a box with "input method" should come up, touch it and change keyboard to Swype.

I dont understand why the Evo 3d's default keyboard is missing the arrows at the bottom. This was what made that keyboard awesome to me.

I thought that too at first. But now the press and hold with the magnified pop-up lets you navigate faster to the point of edit then the arrow keys (for me anyways).
