Help Keyboard quirk

Hi All,

Would be interested to see if anyone else has had this.

I was using the stock email app but it annoyed me because the keyboard didn't autocapitalise when I hit the space bar twice and got a full stop.
I switched to K-9 which does do this luckily (but I don't like the app)
Now, I'm on the Gmail app and am having the same problem.

It's very odd that the keyboard acts so strangely like this in just two apps yet in messaging, it's fine.

I'm using the Better Keyboard 8 app as didn't like the stock Samsung keyboard, It does it on all keyboards i've tried,,

Anyone else had this? And have you managed to work it out?

Thanks

have you tried a stock Android keyboard?
or this https://market.android.com/details?id=com.moo.android.inputmethod.latin.free&feature=search_result

there are other problems with the email app and is the reason I have started to use K9
Keypurr and Smart Keyboard pro won't predict words, and cannot enter passwords using keypurr. However both keyboard apps work fine on internet and sms.

This problem did not occur on HTC DHD on 2.2.

PITA.

I don't know how to raise faults on Android/this forum

i've always preferred some form of the stock Android keyboard on both FroYo and Gingerbread. esp since i'm able to take the apk apart and tweak it very easily. and by take it apart, i mean actually take it apart and edit xml files and such.

also, is Swype not doing the job for you gents?

I like the idea of Swype - but in practise, it makes me want to throw myself out of the window and onto the railings!

lol ditto. i used to use it but found i was actually better with stock Android.
that link i posted, i highly recommend the + version. has themes! :D

Don't like Swype and with fat fingers I have found from trying all the apps that Keypurr is most suitable, although it has its annoyances and took a little getting used to.

I'm using 8pen, so awesome.
The more you use it the faster you will get, naturally.
