keyboard suggestions?

Can you guys recommend a good keyboard? I am having a bard time getting used to using g a virtual keyboard and make a lit of mistakes I'm currently using the "Gingerbread" keyboard and its not much better. May have to return this phone and wait. For the Droid 3 which I'd rather not do. :(
 
Looks like you dont have auto correct on. Bard should have turned into hard.

Try Better Keybaord.*

Lol at bard. But I do have auto correct on. I'm not liking the reviews on better keeyboard. Says things about it tracking personal info. ....
 
I found swype really helps me. Also tilting the phone on its side for a bigger keyboard can help with fat-fingering issues.
 
If you are using the Gingerbread keyboard you can make the virtual keys taller by going to Settings-->Languages and Keyboard-->Gingerbread keyboard settings-->Advanced settings-->Keyboard layout

I have the Gingerbread keyboard and eys are tiny. I tried finding the Advanced settings under Ginger KB Settings, not there???

Did I get the wrong version? WHich one are you using?

Eh not really liking SwiftKey all that much. I'm not why it keeps doing it but for some reason it Keeps deleting words as I type. Kinda frustrating.

Also I like that there's a dedicated smiley key. Is there a way to edit which smiley it uses by defauktdefault? I don't like the : -) with the nose i want it to just be :) without the nose

Yep, first thing I did. I think my deleting words problem has something to do with where the backspace key is positioned but it deletes entire words instead of the last letter. I am not sure what mistype I'm doing that causes this.

Anyone else have any suggestions? I don't really want to go back to my BB and wait for the D3. I really like this phone but the virtual keyboard transition is a bit more difficult then I anticipated. :p
 
Just touch the letters on the screen and a little bulls eye comes up that lets you delete letters by pressing the "x" on the right side of the key board.

Give yourself a little more time with it, I made the switch from an Iphone and haven't looked back yet. Majority of the time I don't even have to type words, Swift Key already knows what I'm going to type next.

Yea I'm using this feature more and more. I type a couple letters and hit space and it gets most of the word. +1 for SwiftKey after all!
