Help Keyboard

So my wifes only complaint with her new Charge is the keyboard. She doesn't like the way it types the word it thinks you want until you're done typing the entire word. I know, I know...I should've grabbed swiftkey when it was free on amazon but anyone recommend another free keyboard? Or is there a way for the Charge's keyboard to still spell check without putting the word it thinks you want where you're typing? Does this make sense? Do you all know what I'm talking about? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I know that you want a free keyboard but... I use Smart Keyboard Pro but it's about $3.00 for the app. It has to be one of the best rated on-screen keyboards for Android.

If it works nice for her and I don't have to hear any complaints...$3 is cool. I will take a look at it. Thanks for the info.
