Keymonk issues with Sensation

I recently just downloaded the Keymonk keyboard, and the dual swype function works everywhere, except for when I'm text messaging. While using keymonk for texting I can't swype normally nor dual swype. Has anyone else had this problem? (Gingerbread)

Also, I just sim unlocked the phone, without rooting. I want to update the phone to ICS, will the sim unlock be undone?
