Keypad Tones

Pakman

Lurker
I upgraded to Gingerbread a few months ago and ever since then i cannot turn the keypad tones off especially when i am typing a message, it is now becoming quite annoying as when i want to send a secret text i cant do it without turning the volume of the phone down, can someone tell me where i am going wrong or has it become an inbuilt feature now.

Ps i have tried the usual settings>sounds>audible touch tones, which doesnt make a difference:confused:

I'm on CM7, not sure what you're using. But i went to settings > Language & Keyboard Settings > Android Keyboard > Uncheck Sound on key-press

not sure if this is helpful, post back if not and i'll see if i can find anything else to help you :)

I am the owner of DHD. I am also having the same problem as Pakman, since I upraded the phone couple days ago. I tried what Dixi1801 proposed but under Language&Keyboard settings I dont have Android Keyboard!!!
Also I instaled Sound Manager. It has System Volume. Till this upgrade it help turning off tones when tiping SMS. Now it turns ON tones by it self! I am not sure what to do about it. If someone finds solution, let me know. Thanks.
