Kies 3

Is it me, but is Kies the most useless pile of cack ever thought of to do anything with computers and phones ???
I set my S3 phone to back up to kies, but 2 hours plus down the line, it hasn't got a third of the way to completing the task. Total crap. Will not use it again.

Kies is a pile of streaming poo. It reminds me of "Nokia Suite" and 'Ovi Suite" from my Symbian days, they were awful too. I never use Kies, it just takes up space on my hard drive so Odin can use the drivers.

By the way Kies 3 shouldn't work with a Samsung Galaxy SIII, Kies (without a number) is the one you need to use.

Hi, Kies 3 is needed if you have 4.3 installed. And I agree with everyone else about Kies!!!! Phil

I actually downloaded the ordinary Kies first, but it told me I had to use kies 3 for S3 with 4.3. Still a pile of cack.

Guess I'm the lucky exception, but Kies3 works great with my phone. I use it to backup and sync with outlook, and it takes a few minutes max to do the whole thing. Early releases of 3 were horrendous and usually locked up after 1/2 an hour, but the latest updates are fast. Maybe delete everything, make sure you have the latest usb drivers and give it another go. fyi, running it on win7 pro
