I need a new pc and I'm toying with an imac. Just wondering how kies works with OSX. Suppose it cant be any worse than on a windows machine

Yes, it can be worse, A LOT worse.

I started out using Kies and it was, and still is, nothing but a pain in the ass to use with a Mac. It's slow, laggy, buggy and takes forever to do even the simplest of tasks. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish however they tout Kies as sort of an iTunes-like program for managing/syncing your data. It is nothing like iTunes whatsoever. I don't think Kies was "meant" for Mac OS or it hasn't been updated properly for Mac OS. It's just a complete waste of time IMO.

If you're simply looking for something to transfer data from your Mac -> Droid device, I'd highly recommend AirDroid as it's very simple and easy to use. If you're going to be transferring massive amounts of data to your phone, AirDroid won't be able to handle it and you'll probably need to use some other program to do that. But, for everyday use and light data transfer, nothing really beats AirDroid. It's free on the App Store.
