It looked like Kies allowed wi-fi connection between my PC (laptop) and the S2. I don't believe that has ever worked, however, and the recipe for correcting this is unhelpful with Norton managing my firewall. So, I'm stuck with connecting my phone to synch it up.
Today, I updated Kies, and now synch takes forever. Doesn't really matter as I use Google calendar and contacts for everything, but where it really bothers me is finding out that I have no back-up of any sort on file. I thought I had that at least.
And the request to backup gives me the unhelpful response that I need to wait for synch to be over. At the rate it's going, I estimate this will happen roughly by May 23rd - of some year.
Another thing I thought was strange today was seeing that my "device does not support software upgrading via Kies." Is that a AT&T restriction or did I screw something up?
