Kies BEWARE!

Just upgraded to the moist recent version of Kies and it DELETED ALL MY PHOTOS! Why does it need to delete my photos to upgrade firmware???

It wasn't that useful before but I now hate Kies and will never use it again!

Syncing scares the hell out of me. Last time I used Asus and I sync but it screws up my contacts and schedules. After that, never bothered. If I want to back up files, I will use USB connection and transfer like a harddisk.

Sorry to hear Kies giving issues.
 
Nothing happened... it worked... worked well with outlook... also I am able to sync my memos, contacts videos and photos... i don't use calendar sync as I am on the road frequently and Google calendar Sync works well for me, syncing my incoming outlook schedules to my device...
 
Update! No warning and 20 minutes later everything came back?!?!? Even if it did eventually restore everything, that was too scary.
 
Everyone is so quick to blame Kies yet I find the latest versions to work very well.

ALWAYS do a complete back up before you do something so invasive as an update, that is just common sense. You really need to do a back up once a week.

Keep you photos on your SD card and every time you do a back up I would also copy this photos on the SD card to a folder on my desktop!

If they are important to you they are worth the few minutes to protect them!
 
We may have to call the United Nations council about this. Maybe even start a Kies Awareness Week. Kies is the worst program.
