Hi, I am trying to install Samsung Kies onto my windows 7 64bit laptop however I cannot get it to go past about half way before it comes up with lots of .dll errors and just fails.
It runs fine on my laptop and Pc, both running W7 64bit.
try completely uninstalling the application ( if part of it was installed) and if you are a really competant Pc user you could delete registry entries created by kies( not gonna explain this as it could mess up your windows) Download kies and right click on file and run as admin. Have you got any antivirus/ blocking program on your laptop?
ive uninstalled it and re installed it about 25 times now, trying all kinds of things. I have run cc cleaner too to sort out the registry.
I have run as administrator too and in vista compatibility mode as well as xp.
I have norton on the machine but norton i not coming up with anything during the install and has never stopped anything installing in the past for me..
Really really stuck
not sure if it is anything to do with java on my machine, but probably not as it comes up with all them COM dll errors...
started again with my windows 7 4GB ram lenovo Z570 laptop and it has taken me 2 days to get it back to how it was. Kies and java all seem to be working now though
Dont know what had gone wrong because I am a careful windows user.
Thats why I hope android does not go dodgy as easily as windows, does it?
I'm using a Mac and have had quite a few issues with Kies. Namely it's very very slow which can get quite annoying AND sometimes it'll take awhile for the computer to recognize the phones been plugged in. You should take a look at AirDroid as that uses wifi to connect to your phone. Works a lot better than Kies IMO and is simpler to install/use.
I had a similar problem on a brand new All-In One Dell 27" windows 7 machine.
The problem for me was I had to try a different USB port on the computer.
There are a couple on the side of the monitor which didn't work,
I tried one on the back of the monitor and it worked.
