Killing an active download?

Anyone have an idea on how to kill an active download? I just started doing a 500+MB download and wanted to stop it, and delete the partial file since I grabbed the wrong one but even when I went into the download folder and deleted it there and then rebooted I still see the file being actively downloaded.

It is not a big deal, but in case it happens again I would like to just kill the process. (Download manager is not running under applications.)

Glad I have my Alltel Unlimited Data still!

SOLVED: Settings--> Apps --> All Apps --> Download Manager --> Force Stop --> Clear Data and Cache. Then also go into your sdcard/download directory and delete the partial file that will be there.

I've also found I can long press on the file in the notification bar. It brings up the option to checkmark the item along with a trash can icon at the upper right corner of the notification bar to delete it.
