Root Kinda a noob here and I want to root..

Okay so I'm not exactly a noob, I've actually had a couple rooted phones before with z4root, so I've never really had to do anything difficult- just click to root & click to unroot.
But I'm not worried about rooting in a more difficult way, I'm worried about how to un-root, getting back to complete stock, and how you go about getting the latest updates for it, like Gingerbread, without the ota.
What is the best method for rooting & unrooting? I don't care if it has to wipe my data, I'd actually prefer it.

All I want is stock Sense 3.0 and a status bar(orig. HTC skin) with the number of battery left in the battery icon. Help a brother out? I'd be happy to donate.

Also, I am running GB 2.3.4 Sense 2.1, if that information is needed.

I just flashed BAMF Cubed and I think this might be exactly what you are looking for. Read over this forum and 98% of all the guidance you'll need has already been reduced to writing. People here are great with helping fight thru the other 2%.
