Root Kinda Lost With Codenames

I have a ZTE n9100 Force 4G Lte Phone,
I noticed that on these forums that codename hayes and aurora get used. I'm not sure which one I have.
I don't want to flash something and break anything.
I used CWM touch to flash Droidsmithforce so I'm not sure officially what is the codename for my phone.
 
As you said, you have the Force. Carriers like having their own exclusive names for the same phone so that's why you have these differences. The Aurora is the same as the Force in terms of hardware. They're just on different carriers. The Force is for sprint & boost mobile customers.

But what about the other codename "Hayes"

So Hayes = Force - Boost and Sprint
and Aurora = Force - Other Carrier
 
I've actually never heard of the hayes.

I believe that ZTE Aurora was the name given by the manufacturer, ZTE. Sprint then used their own name. The names used are Sprint Force and Boost Force by sprint and Boost Mobile, respectively. So yeah, Aurora=force and hayes I haven't heard of.

The zte force 4g codename is hayes. They did some internal naming on this device for some reason and didn't on any of the other zte devices. That's where aurora came in to play. This was originally thought to be the codename for this device, but the correct one is hayes.

From stock build.prop:

ro.build.product=hayes

So technically hayes and aurora are the same thing.
