Help Kindle fire 2 UI broken? help?

So I've recently rooted my kindle and installed CyanogenMod 10.1(ish). After turning it back on and doing the usual with a new rom like accounts etc. i found that the home, back and tasks button bar at the bottom wasn't there along with the drop down menus at the top of the screen. After searching through many forums (XDA and here) along with google, i found nothing that helped or anyone that has had the same problem.

Right now I can only use on app before having to reboot because i cant leave the app. Things I have tried are new roms (base JB and two other modded versions of it), clearing cash, factory resets etc. None of this has helped. Can anyone help or point me to the right direction?

One final point is that this is the Gen2 kindle fire not the first gen or the HD versions.
 
Hello and welcome to the forums . I see your having trouble with the fff aka fire,fire,fire. Now you say you are having problems with the home keys . Are you shore you downloaded the correct rom . And did you make sure that

Well, the bar at the bottom with the home, back and apps button is gone, widgets don't shop up half the time and the pull down/drop down menus at the top of the screen are gone. Also, the background pictures don't appear. I downloaded the rom directly from the cyanogenmod website under the official ports section of the kindle fire 2. I only use the stable builds so it's nothing to do with the rom. I also know this because I've used multiple different roms which I've mentioned before.

Try to do a full data wipe and cache . If this don't work post back . Maybe try the latest nightly and see if one works .
 
Thank you. I did an internal data format, cash wipe and everything accept a system wipe and that put the drop/pull down menus and home, back and apps bar back up. Also, Widgets and the background now work properly. Thanks again :D
