Can Someone Help Me Out? My Cousin's Kindle Fire Doesn't Charge. I Tried Numerous Amounts Of USB Ports And It Wont Charge /: Its Running CM7 And Its Rooted. I Think Its Something With The USB Port On The Kindle Though...
I'm sending mine in for a replacement but I didn't tell them it was rooted. I have no way to unroot it though since the battery is dead along with the Usb so I don't have any way to charge it.
Seems that quite a few people have had issue with the KF not charging, at least the 1st gen. If you were fortunate enough to encounter the issue during your warranty you're lucky. I unfortunately was not.
My daughters Kindle Fire (2nd Generation) doesn't charge with any android charger. I can literally charge my phones around the house with numerous chargers but the Kindle won't charge with any except the charger it comes with.
Failure of the usb/charging port is common enough that, at the time I'm writing this there are at least two repair services listed on eBay and new ports. UTube has several "How too." for those game to try the resolder themselves. My Fire is having a new port put in right now. I'll post again when I've had it back for a few days.
If you are not using the stock charging items, that could be the issue. There are amp minimums for the Kindle Fire - 1.8 amps I think. Many car chargers, wall chargers and especially USB hubs put out significantly fewer amps.
"...Amazon’s Kindle Fire charger outputs 1.8"
