Kindle on a HERO

lil goat

Newbie
I figured what the heck I would try it, app is free. I am very impressed so far, works well and is easy to read. I like having a book in my pocket to read.

I also am using the Kindle for Android. It works great and also thru the magic of Amazon's Whispersync it updates my actual Kindle to where I left off since I don't always have it with me.

I need some advice. I have the HTC Hero and cannot find the kindle app in the Android market. I even went to the amazon website and used a barcode scanner to scan it and look it up. My phone identifies it as Kindle and then sais nothing found. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

What version of Android is on your Hero? The app requires 1.6 or later. If I remember correctly, the Hero originally came with 1.5.

Fantastic... used it on my wife's Hero prior to getting my EVO.

Cool thing with Whispersync is that you can have more than one device attached to the same account. So, my wife and I could read Pride & Prejudice and Art of War (both free on Amazon) at the same time...

I just downloaded "Moon + reader" from the market, it comes with few pre programmed websites that have free ebooks on the ready. It's a pretty good app, except it scrolls down instead of left/right, like your turning pages. But the price is awesome!
