Root Kit kat for elite ?

I think the elite is pretty much going to stay 4.1.2 or maybe it will get to 4.3. It might not be able to handle 4.4 and up because most phones are running with a dual processor and enough memory are able to run 4.4. But I guess if the optimus V can boot 4.4 then I guess the elite can as well

The elite actually meets the requirements for kit Kat and should run it just fine, afaik it's the size of the ROM that's an issue

Just FYI, my Fascinate (less Ram/Rom than Elite, but 2GB vs 1GB built-in storage & 1000mhz cpu) runs far better on KitKat than JB, ICS, etc. so I would expect this phone will as well with a little overclocking.

I agree KitKat runs better on all my devices versus any variation of jellybean. While larger in size, memory usage is minimized and the OS just performs better. Android has come a long way since cupcake in both ascetics and functionality.

Err I basing my post on my own logic rather than actual specs on the elite. I know it can be done but with my experience the elite and those were horrible experiences. 1) My elite barely runs ICS well, 2) Jelly Bean nearly destroyed my phone and 3) I think I have a faulty elite. So based on that I doubt kit kat would run smoothly on my elite. Maybe other peoples elite work fine and dandy but there are some devices out there are faulty devices.

All these faulty elites. Were are you guys buying these elites from?

Sorry for the lack of updates. The thing is that I'm a dev for an other device now as well and I had my time on it trying to fix it up and get a ROM out on it. Since they are now enjoying aokp for it now and there isn't any major bugs I can use all my time for the elite to get kitkat running on the elite. I'm personally interested in kitkat myself so I pretty much want kitkat to happen on the elite.

Would you be interested in an accomplice / protege lol

Sure. Here's a non booting rom of kitkat. Maybe you can look through it and see what's up. I lost the new recovery so you can't flash it.

I have zero idea what I can do but i'll look. I was hoping to be able to learn and help development while you were away with other devices. I believe it would be beneficial for you and the community to have some one who can sort of carry the torch while you are away.

I think we need a minimal of CWM 6.0.45 and we need the partitions reconfigured. Looks like the galaxy y devs and optimus s/v have made some progress.

When I did the unofficial build on my nexus there was a pit file and I think that automagically reconfigured the partitions. I could dump my Nexus if that helps.
