Help KitKat 4.4.2

Hi all,
Very surprising how easy it was to put KitKat 4.4.2 on my Note 3 using Odin(No root). I think it was the official version from Poland that has been released of late.
I'm in the UK and on the 3 network and just glad I don't have that 3 "Splash" screen display whenever I turn the device on.
It's definitely quicker(or is that a Placebo). A few subtle differences such as Icons on the Status bar staying white like stock android.
Will update once I have discovered more.

One thing I would like to know is which apps are safe to "Force stop" on the note 3 that are running in the background because I noticed this even before I updated to KitKat?
Anyones help and assistance from this forum would be very much appreciated.

Force stopping things is bad practice, some apps share processes and they'll only restart as soon as your backs turned as well.

Much better, now you know what Odin is all about, to root and use something like Titanium Backup to freeze unwanted apps (even system ones). The only safe way is experimentation on an app or process, one at a time basis. There are lists out there, but with 4.4 I would tread carefully as "an early adopter", you could in theory bork your phone that would require a reflash to sort.

I'm very sorry for the rookie question...how do you install kit Kat with this Odin you speak of? I'm on Verizon in the U.S. is this an opt-in for me? Are there ramifications?

Kitkat is not yet available for the Verizon variant of the Note 3. KitKat is available for some international versions of the Note 3. These can't be flashed to the Verizon Note 3 through Odin or any other means. Trying it would render your phone unusable.

And strangely not just for international models but branded at that. Unbranded are still far and between.
