KitKat has pushed, start your downloads

Anyone else having issues staying on 4G since the update? I was on 4G about 99.5% of the time prior to the update (and 100% of the time in my house and office), but since have been bouncing back and forth between 4G and 3G at both places. Is VZW coincidentally having issues that seem to have started the same day I updated to 4.4?

Hopefully it's a local issue. I've heard elsewhere that someone claims their LTE connection has gotten better. Late at night (between about 11 pm and 4 am) I've noticed that I've been losing 4G and dropping back to EHRPD on a rather consistent basis, and that did not happen last night after the KitKat upgrade. But it could be coincidence.

It'll be interesting to see if the phone is able to better hold on to weak LTE after this update; my father has a Moto Droid HD and it holds 4G much better than the DNA. There are a few stores here near a small regional airport, and the lack of towers and tower height means everyone suffers when inside these buildings. But his will stay 4G and usable while mine drops to 3G or even 1x. Wifi performance seems to be the opposite. I can lock on to signals far easier and hold on to them longer than the Moto.

I just noticed that after the update the zoom bar is missing from the screen when using the camera. Is anyone elseseeing this or am I ju st missing something here?

My DNA is currently "off network" (I switched to a different phone), but I wonder if it's still possible to get the update over wifi? I tried checking for an update and it looks like the phone can't connect so I may already have my answer, but thought I'd ask anyway :-)

You should be able to get your updates via wifi. I get most all of mine that way when I am at home.

My DNA was connected to WiFi when the 2 updates downloaded and started to install. The first was reletively quick and installed fine. The second update, the 618mb update, has downloaded and rebooted my DNA.

Currently my DNA is stuck part way through the install process and says "Running wr_bin tool..."

Suggestions on what to do as this screen has not changed for 2 hours.

I tried to put this in a new thread but for some reason it's not letting me post a new topic. I updated to Kit Kat a few days ago and now back up assistant plus does not work. Each time it attempts to back up I get error code 36. Any ideas?

So far I haven't noticed any big annoyances with the update. I too liked being able to have different wallpaper on my home than my lock screen but can deal with it. I also haven't seen anything to knock my socks off. Changes in the looks of a few of my apps and icons is about all. Not seeing any changes in battery life, which does make me happy.
