Kitkat killed my Note 3

I got the update a few days ago and it has been nothing but problems:

*My phone is so slow, I'm constantly having to kill apps, clear tasks and pull my battery.

*Some of my games were reset, so I uninstalled and when I went into the play store to re install the play store thought they were still on my phone, once again had to pull the battery.

*Installing games from the play store takes forever.

*My text message notification will not go away.

*Every time I pull I had my battery I get new text message notifications for texts that have already been viewed.

*Texts take forever to send! Or say they are in the process of being sent but the recipient has already received them.

*Battery life is a joke! Even with the brightness turned all the way down I cant even get through the day without having to charge it.

And the icing on the cake my alarm no longer works! Not even ones downloaded off of the play store. All of my notifications are on and volumes are turned up....

In the process of backing up files, since I use my phone for work related stuff. My back up assistant seems to be affected as well, having to email my self all of my files and contacts.

Glad to see you up and running. Could have asked for a backup app we can help you with that also . if you have any other problems feel free to ask

You shouldn't have to constantly kill apps either. Try only killing problem apps when they are acting up. Let android manage the rest on its own. If you just want to clear everything out, try restarting the phone.

I restart mine first thing every morning and it has been completely trouble free since I got it. Killing apps and pulling the battery is probably what corrupted your data.

That is why I personally have the "Auto update" turned off.
I can back up everything before the upgrade, upgrade, than factory reset.
I learned that the hard way....

Lateck,

Any updates? Is your phone still doing better after the factory reset? Thinking about doing this with mine as well because of instability after KitKat.

Tony

Can anyone offer any advice on the best way to back everything up and re-install it all after a factory reset?

I think, like the OP, I need to do this... and I want to make it as painless as possible.

Thanks in advance!

There is an app called helium that can backup much of what you'll want to keep:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup

His website (the app used to be named carbon - hence the name in the link) :
ClockworkMod Carbon
